Aleksi has been practising music and writing songs since he was 5 years old. First the piano, then the violin and finally drums since 2006. While learning the basics of drumming Aleksi got into the world of metal music. It was not long before he founded a metal band with his brother and their friend. That band was later to become Path Of Annihilation.
They released a self-financed album and did quite a few gigs at various youth centers, even a few at Gloria, Helsinki. However, in 2010 after a period of regrouping and inactivity the band just ceased to exist. 2 years later Aleksi and his composer sidekick from POA, Antti Myllynen, decided to found a new band under a new name – Creinium.
In addition to Aleksi being one of two composers – nowadays the only one – in Creinium, he has always been the driving force, too. He sticks his nose into recording, arranging, producing, marketing, basically everything.
Aleksi has a wide taste in music. Mostly metal, nearly every sub genre, but also electronic music, prog rock and the likes. Aleksi mixes everything he likes into Creinium’s songs. He doesn’t like to repeat the same rhythms or melodies and tends to variate them to make things less boring – and more annoying to rehearse.
