I have good news and bad news. Bad news first.

It has pretty much hit the fan in Creinium. This Monday Matti left Creinium mostly due to motivational issues. Matti’s departure started an unforseen chain of events. Within the day, Mikko quit too, immediately followed by Tone. Antti spent two days thinking things through and finally decided to quit as well. The guys left because they just didn’t enjoy being in Creinium anymore, and because they were fed up with the constant lineup changes. But mostly they left because they think I’m a dick and a dictator when it comes to band matters. And they aren’t too far from the truth. (Personally I think you need to be a dick and/or a dictator sometimes to get shit done.) Despite all the reasons listed above, there’s no personal drama behind the scenes and we all still remain friends.

Anyway. Now I happen to be a proud member of a one man metal band. Which kinda sucks.

Also, our website will probably go somewhat down until further notice, because I don’t have the skills to maintain the website.. You’ll still find most of the usual information here on Facebook and you can contact Creinium here or via email (creinium at gmail dot com) like before.

Now the good news.

Despite the fact that I’m left alone in the band, Creinium shall not cease to exist. I listen to the unfinished edits of the songs from the forthcoming album nearly every day, and I think we’ve managed to create something so great that it would just be a waste to let it go and kick the bucket. I will look for new musicians, and I actually might already have a few potential candidates. Nevertheless, finding a bassist, a vocalist and 2 guitarists might take some time, so bare with me. (Especially when the songs I write are so fucking annoyingly hard to memorize. Damn me!)

Creinium’s co-founder, keyboardist, songwriter and also my best friend Antti would be nearly impossible to replace as a keyboardist, so I’m not even gonna give it a try. Creinium is just going to have to start being gay like every other band and start using playback keyboards. Which is totally gay. But unfortunately necessary.

No matter what it takes, I will make sure that Crenium will be making your head bang on the stage in no time!

In other news, all the bad things that have happened won’t affect the release of Creinium’s debut album Hallucinosis. Creinium’s former vocalist Eeli will soon record the vocals for the album, and the artwork is under development. Thus the album should be out sometime in the summer. I can’t make any promises, but everything should be ready by then. I might even publish the tracklist soon, if you behave yourselves.

So. This is obviously the end of an era for Creinium. Antti’s songwriting played a very important role in Creinium’s music. Certain elements of our sound may be lost forever. He wrote songs on his own, but also gave crucial feedback and change proposals to my songs. (Maybe he’ll still do that in the future, who knows.) However, since you’ve also liked songs written by me in the past, I hope you will enjoy the Anttiless Creinium songs as well /,,/

Chin to the chest and towards more disappointments, as we say in Finland.

Sincerely, Aleksi Holma
Founder, drummer, songwriter of Creinium
